AIR FORCE APPLICANTS
MANY INQUIRIES RECEIVED IN MASTERTON.
SEVERAL COMMENCE TRAINING
During the last few days there has been a large number of inquiries from young men who wish to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force and the Civil Reserve of Pilots. Those who wish to join the R.N.Z.A.F. have been referred to the Air Department, Wellington, but applications for the Civil Reserve may be made on forms obtainable from Messrs Dunderdale and Gray, secretaries of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club (Inc.). Numerous inquiries are also being received from men who wish to take up aviation with the object of joining the Air Force when their services are required. Several have already joined up with the club and will commence flying training immediatelly. At the Hood Aerodrome training of Civil Reserve pilots and private trainees is proceeding satisfactorily. The following teams have been selected for the inter-branch competition with Dannevirke to be held on Sunday next at the Dannevirke Aerodrome. Masterton: Messrs A. W. Buchanan, W. R. Jaspers, T. W. Horton. Martinborough: Messrs J. R. Wenden, B. E. Sheet, N. W. Beetham.
