MAORI CONCERT
IN AID OF PAPAWAI PA. The Maori Concert to be staged in the Opera House on September 13 and 14 should draw large audiences, as already a second order has been received to double the quantity of tickets now on sale. The first lot were sold out in less than a week. The performers have all been discovered in the Wairarapa and some surprisingly good talent will appear on the stage. About two years ago a similar concert was staged in Masterton and hundreds were unable to obtain admission The performance will be well ahead of that production and an enormous amount of time has been spent by the organisers in making Native stage effects to get a real spectacular setting. The programme is a varied one and should live long in the memories of all who hear it. The box plans will open at W. G. Perry’s on Thursday next.
