Racing in Nev/ Zealand over the weekend was confined to two Hunt Club meetings, one in the South Island and one in the North. In the South Island the Otago Hunt Club staged a very successful meeting. The principal winner at this meeting was Joy Boa who annexed the Otago Hunt Cup Steeples after starting at sixth choice. *At New Plymouth the Egmont-Wanganui combined meetihg was concluded and a good day’s racing was witnessed. The big event was the Duke of Gloucester Cup which was won by Windsor Chief, an outsider. The Hunt Club Cup Steeplechase went to Lady Jim.
