RED CROSS SOCIETY AN ENJOYABLE DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The dance in aid of the Red Cross Society’s funds which was held in Mr Brandon's woolshed on Saturday night was well attended and Mrs Brandon is to be congratulated on the success of the function. Mr Chas. Buck acted as M.C., and Mr J. Buck and Mr L. Daysh supplied the music. The cake judging competition was won by Miss M. Rasmussen. The saveloy supper was much enjoyed. ELOCUTION SUCCESSFUL .CANDIDATE. At the Trinity College elocution examination conducted recently by Mr Rupert Harvey, Miss Hazel Bergh was successful in passing her intermediate grade. Miss Bergh is the pupil of Miss Betty Smith. GOLV CONTESTS HOLE IN ONE. The following were the best cards handed in for the Stableford competition, held on Saturday:—G. O’Neale, score 32, handicap 5, total 37; A. Hoby, 24, 13, 37; J. Wilson, 31, 5, 36; W. Fountain, 29. 5, 34: W. Rowles Junr., 26, 3, 34; W. Rowles Senr., 31, 2, 33; H. Wehipeihana, 28, 4, 32; D. Howells, 20, 12. 32; D. McWilliam, 15, 17, 32. Re-handicaps: G. O'Neale, 6/5; J. Wilson, 6/5; W. Rowles Junr., 9/7; A. Hoby, 16/12. Mr J. E. Willett, whilst playing in the above Stableford competition on Saturday, holed out in one on the 14th, "The Island” (distance 90 yards, bogey 3), and duly paid the penalty. Personal Items. Miss Lorna Crosbie. of the Featherston hockey team, played centre-half in the Wairarapa junior representative team in Wellington on Saturday. Miss A. Jones, Wellington,- was a weekend visitor to Featherston.
