DAVENTRY ANNOUNCEMENTS INSTITUTION OF CONVOY SYSTEM. AIR WARFARE IN POLAND. The following announcements made from the short wave station at Daventry, England, have been re-broadcast by the New Zealand National stations: The British Admiralty announces the institution of a convoy system for merchantmen. The Poles claim to have shot down 64 German raiders and state that their own losses are 11 machines. In a message to the German army on the western front, Herr Hitler said Britain had taken off her mask, and that he was “determined to blow up this ring which has been laid round Germany. The battle will end in a few months.”
