CHESS
ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTER-CLUB MATCH. DRAW FOR -MONDAY’S GAMES. Arrangements are in hand to stage an inter-club match between the Masterton Chess Club and a team from South Wairarapa. The dale suggested is September 8, and it is proposed to hold, the « gathering at the Odd Fellows’ Hall. A strong muster of local players is necessary as South Wairarapa will be invading in force. A cordial invitation is extended to all chess players in the district, whether club members or not to attends', Any club members who will not be available are asked to notify the secretary. Club Games. The weekly meeting will be held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Monday at 7.30 p.m., when ladder .games will be played. The draw is as follows: —Mrs Glen v. M. Cleghorn; Miss O. Clemas v. E. A. Heyder; Mrs Cartwright v. J. Shearer; A. E. Clemas v. C. C. Judge; W. Nops v. R. Jamieson; G. R. Jackson v. C. Clemas; H. Glen v. J. Pauling; J. Cartwright v. Pat Gilchrist; N. Lamont v. N. Burk; C. A. Clemas a bye.
