THEFT OF SUITCASE
ACCUSED SENT TO GAOL. A CARTERTON CASE. A man, Patrick Ernest T. Collins, was arrested yesterday afternoon by the Carterton poliep on a charge of drunkenness. He had in his possession a lady’s suitcase containing goods to the value" of 10s. He appeared before Messrs. P. A. Cole and W. C. M. Sorensen, J.’sP., at the Carterton S.M. Court this morning charged with drunkenness and theft. It was stated by the police in evidence that accused stole the suitcase from a room in the Marquis Hotel. Accused, had three previous convictions against him this year. -
The Bench sentenced accused to a month’s imprisonment.
