With one day remaining of section play in the Dominion women’s hockey championship, Eastern, holders of .the K. In section A, Ashburton, runners-up last year, and Canterbury, third for the last three years, are on terms, and their meeting tomorrow will decide section honours. Sectional points to date, with two for a win and one for a draw, are: Section A. Ashburton 6, Canterbury G, Feilding 4, Marlborough 4, Auckland 3, Poverty Bay 1. Section B: Eastern 8. Wellington G, Wairarapa 5, Wanganui 5, Southland 0, Marlborough B, 0. Eastern, the only team at the tournament so far to win all matches, beat Southland 9-nil. This brought their total of goals to 29, while they are preserving their own net intact. Two other decisive wins in section B were gained by Wanganui and'Wellington, who registered victories by 7-nil and 5-nil respectively. Another high-scor-ing game saw Ashburton secure an 8nil verdict. Marlborough A went down down to Auckland, who have come with a late run. Results: Section A, Canterbury 3, Feilding 2; Auckland 1, Marlborough A 0; Ashburton 8, Poverty Bay 0. Section B: Eastern 9, Southland 0; Wellington 5, Wairarapa 0; Wanganui 7, Marlborough B 0.
