MAN THROWS PARCEL INTO LONDON CROWD CONTENTS RUBBER BALLS, DISTURBANCE IN DOWNING STREET. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 9.45 a.m.) LONDON. August 28. A man threw a parcel among a crowd in Downing Street at mid-day. It was found to contain only rubber balls, inscribed, "Peace conference now." The crowd shouted, "Lynch him!” and rough-handled the man, who was arrested. Many people were knocked down in a stampede, but calm was quickly restored.
