The United' States retained the Wightman Cup in the tennis match against Great Britain by five matches to two. Miss Scott (Great Britain) beat Mrs Fabyan (U.S.A.), 6-3, 6-4; Miss Marble (U.S.A.) beat Miss Stammers (Great Britain), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4; Miss Jacobs (U.S.A.) beat Miss Hardwick (Great Britain), 6-2, 6-2. In the doubles Miss Marble and Mrs Fabyan (U.S.A.) beat Miss Stammers and Mrs Hammersley (Great Britain); 7-5, 6-2.
