BEER STRIKE

SOME PUBLICANS RESTIVE. BOTH PARTIES TO REVIEW POSITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. It is stated that some Wellington publicans are restive over the effect of the "beer strike” on their bar receipts and that at least one popular hotel in Wellington intends next week to revert to the old price of 5d a handle for beer bought in the public bar. Another meeting of the Wellington Licensed Victuallers’ Association will be held next week, when the whole question of the “beer strike" in relation to the trade will be thrashed out. Meantime, a mass meeting of complainants is to be held at the Basin Reserve on Sunday. There will be several speakers.
