All varieties have some good points and are useful under some conditions. The following are given as a selection suitable for the small garden; they are hardy and prolific bearers, and are well-known standard varieties:— Apples: Gravenstein, Delicious, Munroe’s Favourite, Salome. Fig: White Adriatic. Nectarines: Goldmine. Peaches: Jansen’s Early, Brigg’s Red May, Golden Queen, Sea Eagle, Kalamazozo. Pears: Louis Bonne of Jersey, Williams Bon Chretien, Conference. Plums: Burbank, Satsuma, Pond’s Seedling, Damson, Frogmore Prolific. Quince: Van Diemans. Orange: Navelencia, Pcormans. Lemon: Lisbon.
