The Institute of Underwriters announced an increased minimum war risk rate for risks ’outside the war risks cargo pool." operative on August 24. as follows: Baltic. 30s per cent: Mediterranean 35s per cent; Australia and New Zealand.. 15s per cent out. and 20s per cent home. German and Italian ships are excluded. They may be rated as underwriters' discretion. The rates are lower than in last September’s and are approximately equal to those applying during Italy’s annexation of Albania. CAUTIOUS ATTITUDE ON LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE. (Received This Day. 10 a.m.) LONDON. August 23. On the Stock Exchange a cautious atmosphere prevails. There have been few transactions and the general tendency is weaker. Gilt-edged securities were further marked down.
