Germany to Pursue National Interests INTIMATION TO BRITISH AMBASSADOR (Received This Dav, 9.55 a.m.) BERCHTESGADEN August 23. A communique states: “In compliance with a wish of the British Government, the Fuehrer received Sir Nevile Henderson, who handed him a letter from Mr Chamberlain, phrased on the same lines as last night’s Cabinet statement. The Fuehrer left Sir N. Henderson in no doubt that the obligations Britain fiad undertaken could not cause Germany to renounce pursuance of her national vital interests.’’
