IMPORTED AVRSHIRES
SALE IN WELLINGTON. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report having held a sale of imported Ayrshires in their Wellington store yesterday. This importation had been inaugurated by Canadian breeders through their trade commissioner in this country, and created a vast amount, of interest. Breeders from all parts of New Zealand attended the sale. There were only 6 cattle in the consignment, 4 bulls and 2 heifers, but they were a very select lot, having been very discriminately selected, and probably being the best bred and best backed lot of cattle ever to leave Canada. Competition was very strong, the bulls averaging £l7O and the heifers £l7B. The following are full par-.
