COURSING
WAIRARAPA CLUB. MEETING AT AKURA ON SATURDAY. On Saturday afternoon the Wairarapa Coursing Club will conduct its final meeting of the season at the Akura Plumpton. The events will include a 16-dog Maiden Stake and an Open Stake. For the Maiden Stake a trophy has been presented by Mr Carl Larsen, of Carterton. An added attraction to followers of coursing will be a parade of the Waterloo Cup winners during the last three years, a record that has probably never been equalled previously in that the three winning flogs all belong to the same town. The Maiden Stake has drawn an excellent field of well matched greyhounds. The Trump has an excellent, chance of moving into open company, while British Pride, after his Hastings runs, should be in good condition. Nigger Minstrel is a dog that is exfpected to run well. He will be improved from his spell. Cardsharper, from Wellington, will show better form on Saturday as he ran well at Hastings and appeared to be improving with each run.
