MASTERTON CLUB. PROGRAMME FOR REST OF SEASON. The following is the remainder of the programme of the Masterton Harrier Club for the 1939 season:— Saturday. August 26: Benson Trophy contest, Masterton v. Wanganui, run over 6?. miles. Shaw Rose Bowl points to count; 3 1-8 miles junior race. September 2: Five miles District Championship, run under the auspices of the Kiatere Harrier Club; 21 mile race for juniors (under 19 at time of race); first race for a trophy donated by R. Bell. September 9: Invitation race on Mrs G. Shaw’s property. Te Ore Ore. September 16: Ten miles District Championship, over Masterton Club’s course: final of the Show Rose Bowl points. September 23: Friendly run. September 30: Official closing run of 5 miles. Open handicap conditions foi final of Cameron Cup; final race for juniors for the Bell Trophy. A large number of runners is expected to turn out on Saturday, when the Masteiton Club will return the hospitality extended to it by the Wanganui Club on the occasion of the Benson Gate race at Wanganui. A dance in honour of the visitors will be held in the evening.
