TERRITORIAL FORCES
ENTHUSIASM IN WAIRARAPA. EXCELLENT PARADES RECORDED. The position of Territorial h trees in the Wairarapa is most satisfactory, the enrolments having been suil'icient to bring all sections tip io the required strength with tlie exception that two more snipers are still wanted, in the Hawke’s Bay Regiment the strength of the forces located in Masterton is as follows: Machine gun platoon. 37 men; C Company, light automatic section (two platoons), 2 officers and 64 other ranks; transport drivers, 11 men; snipers, 3 (2 still wanted). Wellington. East. Coast Mounted Rifles, al Masterton. two officers and 75 other ranks; at Eketahuna. 21 men and at Woodville 37 men.
An exceptionally good parade was held at Eketahuna last Wednesday, when 11 men were enrolled. Similarly, at Woodville, men are still coming forward. The volunteers are most enthusiastic, and all parades are at almost full strength. Although the forces are at full strength, further recruits will be welcomed as vacancies occur through transfers, etc.
Enrolments in the National Reserve have eased off considerably, though the total in Masterton to date is over 200.
