ST. MATTHEW’S SCHOOL
EXCELLENT CONCERT LAST NIGHT. WELL VARIED ENTERTAINMENT. There was a large and appreciative audience in the Opera House last night, when the pupils of St. Matthew’s Collegiate School presented their concert. The items were of a particularly high standard, and the pupils acquitted themselves well. The programme was as follows:—Indoor games; recitation. Origon of the • Moonlight Sonata. D. Best; figure marching. Forms 3 and 4: songs, with action, juniors; drill, juniors; piano solo. Waltz in A Flat Major (Coleridge Taylor). B. Best: drill, juniors; piano trio, Polonaise in A Major (Chopin), N. Burling. J. Potter. D. Maunsell; songs, (a) March Weather (Alex Rowley), (b) The Dream Ship (Cecil Sharman). Standards 3. 4. 5. 6: Keep Fit ballel. seniors; recitations, juniors; French play. “The Foyer Domestique,” Standards 3 and 4: songs, seniors; skipping, standards: rythmic drill. Form 5: piano trio. "March of the Hussars” (Curlitt), M. Hodder. P. Pavitt, E. Daniell: vaulting, seniors; dance, juniors; French play, “Le Petit Chaperon Rouge."
