EKETAHUNA
ANNUAL BALL FIRE BRIGADE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual ball of the Eketahuna Municipal Volunteer Fire Brigade was an unqualified success. Visiting brigadesmen were present from Dannevirke. Woodville, Pahiatua, Masterton, Carterton and Featherston, and all the country districts radiating from Eketahuna were well represented. Dancing was under the direction of Messrs H. E. Rogers and S. Daniel, the Blue River Dance Orchestra excelling itself and adding to the happy and friendly spirit of the dancers. A ladies’ committee, ably supported by brigade members, waited on the tables. Supper and other extras were played by the Eketahuna Concert Band and were much appreciated. Personal. News has been received in Eketahuna of the death of Paari, the only child of Mr and Mrs Bert Olsen, of Petone, at the age of four years. This is the third bereavement suffered by Mrs Olsen in a short space of time, her brother, Mr Parata, having passed away eight months ago and her mother but two months ago.
