MASTERTON SALE
FAT WETHERS IN SHORT SUPPLY. Fat wethers were in short supply and some enhanced prices were obtained at the Masterton sale yesterday. Forward wethers and hoggets were also in keen demand. No quotable change was recorded in the breeding ewe section. Realisations 'were: —Fat wethers, 25s to 25s 3d; b.f. two-tooths, 23s 6d to 25s 6d; fat hoggets, 19s 6d to 23s 6d; fat ewes, to 19s 9d; forward wethers. 17s 6d; twotooth ewes, r.w. S.D. ram. 13s 8d; m.a. ewes. r.w. Romney rams, to 14s 8d; five and' six-year-old ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, 7s to 9s; aged ewes and lambs, 8s all counted; ewe hoggets, 18s to 23s 3d; wether hoggets. 12s 8d to 16s 6d; Jersey cows at profit, £3 5s to £5 10s; weaner pigs. 20s.
