MR SAVAGE’S ILLNESS
RESOLUTIONS OE SYMPATHY.

The condition of the Primo Minister. Mr Savage, was reported last night by the Little Company of Mary Hospital (Lewisham) to bo satisfactory. He had spent a comfortable day. The Minister of Labour. Mr Webb, who is in the same hospital suffering from eye trouble, was reported last night to be making good progress. Reference to the illness of Mr Savage was made at last night’s meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council. when a motion was carried wishing him a speedy return to health.
The national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party, at a recent meeting, adopted the following resolution:—
“The members of the national executive desire to place on record their sincere sympathy with our loader, the Rt Hon M .J. Savage, in the serious operation that he has recently undergone, and their very great pleasure in hearing of the splendid recovery he is making. We appreciated the high sense of duty which actuated him to carry on his work till the last moment and sincerely trust that he will soon be restored to complete health and be enabled to resume his responsible duties as Prime Minister and to continue the task of carrying out the humanitarian legislation to which the Government and the party is pledged.”
