RUN AT MORISON’S BUSH

AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING..

(“Times-Age” Special.)

A good run by members of the Kiatere Harrier Club took place at Morison's Bush on Saturday afternoon, before a large and interested gathering ot spectators. The start was from Morison's Bush hotel, and the trail proceeded dewn the main road, to Mr Morison’s property, the distance being 101 juniors 31 miles and for seniors 62 miles A good performance was put up by D. Nelson, who won the senior handicap after leading throughout the race After the race afternoon tea was f provided at the hotel, the table being ' (tastefully decorated by Mrs Burns, and her lady helpers. During afternoon tea, Mr J. Ropeiison. M.P., presented the trophies to the winners, congratulating all runnels on their good performances. All arrangements for the afternoon’s sport was capablv arranged by Mr H. Scrimshaw and Mr J. Carter, these two mon having donated a handsome silver cup. Mrs Lambess (Tauherenikau) also kindly donated a cup for competition by the junior members. The handicaoper, Mr Carter, set his handicaps well, as some close finishes were witnessed. Piper R. Stoaker piped the lads away on their journeys. The following are the results. Junior handicap:—N. Jacobsen. 22 min 15sec. G. Hodgctts. 22.27, G. Laing 22.48. Junior fastest time:—N. Jacobson. 18min 30 sees; M. Doyle, 19.7, F. Sexton, 21.17. . Senior handicap. D. Nelson. ,j6mm 10 secs. A. Addison. 36.17; W. Macdonald. 36.50. Senior fastest time—W. Burgess 31 min 16 sec: W. MacDonald 31.30, R. Greeks. 31.37.
