For the first time in over 30 years a wild cat has been caught on Canister Moors, Caithness. It was striped and measured 36 inches from its nose to the tip of its tail. It was caught alive in a trap set for foxes by Mr Torn Mackay, a gamekeeper, but as it was vicious it had to be shot.
