Riccarton Concludes with Big Dividends WAGNER SCORES IN HEATHCOTE HANDICAP A. JENKINS AGAIN IN GREAT FORM (BY “CARBINE.”) Springing a surprise in the Heathcote Handicap, Wagner paid his supporters well at Riccarton on Saturday. In the first division of the Longbeach Handicap Merry March who started at 21-20 favourite scored a handsome win from Kaiwaka. The Lincoln Steeplechase was annexed by Slayer while King Rey scored in the Sydenham Hurdle race.
A. Jenkins had another good day, riding three winners, one second and one third, making seven winners for the meeting and a third in both Nationals.
