Two navy airmen Were killed when a bomber burst into flames and crashed during gunnery exercises. Engine trouble is blamed for the disaster at Langley Field, Virginia, in which nine airmen were killed. The plane rose from the field, but dived suddenly, crashing from a height of 150 feet. It was enveloped in Hames almost immediately,/ thwarting efforts to reach the men trapped in the cabin. The machine burned so fiercely that it was an hour before the bodies could be removed.
