President Roosevelt, addressing a meeting- of the Young Democratic Clubs, served notice that bis party need expect no support from him during- the Presidential campaign if it nominates a conservative President or “one who gives merely lipservice to my policies.” This is interpreted to mean that Mr Roosevelt is determined to reject any compromise with the conservative Democratic bloc, and is either running for a third teriji or is supporting a candidacy of his own selection.
