POLISH WARNING
EVIDENCE OF WHITE=HOT APPREHENSION
WORDS OF SMIGLY-RYDZ RECALLED. CONDITIONS OF PEACE. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m? LONDON, August 10. Whit (■'-hot anticipation and apprehension over what Herr Foerster may say tonight was illustrated by an unprecedented statement broadcast from all Polish stations in Polish and German. It said: “It is known that Herr Foerster saw Herr Hitler at Berchtesgaden. We hope, in his speech, he will bear in mind the words of Marshal Smigly-Rydz, namely, that Poland knows no peace which means one must give and l ' another receive.” Polisli circles interpret this as an unmistakable warning to Danzig, from which place it was reported that Herr Foerster might make some proclamation as a result of his visit to Berchtesgaden.
