LIGHT & SANITATION

CONDITIONS AT CENTRAL SCHOOL. MEDICAL INSPECTOR NOT SATISFIED. A statement to the effect that the eyesight of children attending the Masterton Central School was generally weak, which it was thought, might be due to some extent to the dark rooms, was made by Dr. Mulholland, in his report concerning Central School pupils, after he had spent a whole week at the school examining the children. Dr. Mulholland also reported that he was.not satisfied with the sanitary provisions in a school of this size and was of the opinion that they were antiquated and inadequate. These facts were brought to light at a meeting of the Central School Committee held last night. The committee decided to draw the attention of the Wellington Education Board to the doctor’s report.
