GERMAN REFUGEES
SIXTY THOUSAND STILL IN EUROPE EQUAL NUMBER ESTABLISHED IN NEW HOMES. REPORT TO LEAGUE ASSEMBLY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 1.10 p.m.) GENEVA, August 9. A report which is being presented to the League Assembly in September states that at least 120,000 refugees left Germany in 1938. Sixty thousand are now in Europe, mostly not permitted to work and dependent on private organisations for maintenance. The remainder have found new homes, chiefly in the United States, Palestine, Australia and South America. The possibilities of mass settlement are still being considered.
