WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs J. Welsh presided at the monthly meeting of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institute, there being a very good attendance of members. During the afternoon Mrs Kerry gave a very interesting talk on Braille and how to read it. Mrs N. Crewe gave a demonstration on “Seed Work.” Some fine examples of her work were shown. The monthly competitions resulted as follows:—Seniors: Knitted hot water bag covers, Mrs J. Shaw, 1; Mrs Taylforth, 2. Juniors: Knitted hot water bag cover. Miss L. Pain, 1; Mrs Alan Keir, 2. Flowers: Mrs Alan Keir, 1; Mrs Scharnweber, 2. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs H. Dagg and Miss B. Pain.
