The British Chamber of Commerce in Tsingtao has written to the London Chamber of Commerce stating that many largo Japanese business houses in Tsingtao are revolting against the "Japanese Army-engineered” anti-Bri-tish campaign in North China. They refuse to allow soldiers to plaster abusive posters on their walls. The letter says that during the demonstrations Japanese mills closed and allowed their Cmnese employees to attend. Each adult present was given hirty cents and children five cents. Chinese shops were ordered to send a representative or to pay a .fine. The Army authorities on the spot were responsible for the demonstrations.
