DAIRY CLEARING SALE.
GOOD PRICES FOR HERD
Messrs Wright: Stephenson and Co Ltd., report: —We held, a clearing sale at Belvedere, yesterday on behalf of the Trustees in the Estate of the late John Sage. There was a very big attendance from all parts of the Wairarapa, and also the Hutt district. The herd comprised first-class cows in excellent condition. No butterfdt records were given, but nevertheless buyers bid very spiritedly throughout arid anything close to calving made prices ranging from £ll to £l5. The whole herd, comprising a few late calvers and unsound cows, made the satisfactory average price of just on £ll. The horses sold well, the 5-year gelding making £3O, 1 aged mare, £26, and the other mare £27. Pigs made good values—Sow with litter, £l3, baedridrs, £3 2s Cd. Twelve fat hoggets realised 20s each. The implements brought good values, the following being) some of the prices:—Mower, £ll 15s, hayrake, £l2; Cultivator, £8; disc, £10; s.f. plough, £lO 10s; drill, £4O; manure distributor, £2G 10s. The hay realised prices ranging from 4s Cd to ss.
