PORT BOWEN SALVAGE
ARRIVAL OF AUSTRALIAN EXPERT. REPRESENTING LONDON ASSOCIATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. To assist in salvaging the Port Bowen, Captain J. Herd, of Brisbane, representing the London Salvage Association. arrived by the Awatea today. Captain Herd has had a wide experience and has visited many wrecks on the Australian coast and as far away as New Caledonia. Interviewed. he said the London Salvage Association represented all parties with an interest in the vessel or cargo. It was the practice of all parties to assign their interests to the association, so that salvage operations and the protection of the various rights involved might be centralised.
