WOMEN’S MISSIONARY AUXILIARY. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Methodist Women’s Missionary Auxiliary was held this week at the Methodist Parsonage, Lincoln Road, the Rev. F. Parker presiding over a good attendance. After the devotional period, conducted by Mrs F. Parker, the various reports on the year’s work were received and adopted. The secretary’s annual report, presented by Miss E. Beale, showed that the membership of the Auxiliary was being well maintained, that the meetings both of the executive and the monthly gatherings were well worth while. Special thanks were due to the Revs. E. J. Rich, F. Parker Mrs Jones of the Salvation Army and Miss E. Rishworth, of Auckland, who had addressed meetings on different occasions; also to Mesdames F. Parker, L. Janson. H. Speight and Miss V. Jackson who have occupied the chair from time to time. Good work has been done by Mrs G. Blane as stamp secretary in forwarding packets of used stamps for sale in aid of the Mission Funds.
The annual balance sheet presented by Mrs A. J. Daysh showed that the Auxiliary was in a very good position financially.
The Box Organisers’ report presented by. Mrs C. Shoosmith and Miss V. Jackson stated that much good work; had been done by members in sending garments, etc., to both the home and overseas mission field.
After a dainty afternoon tea had been dispensed by the executive the election of officers took place resulting as follows: —President, Mrs F. Parker; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Cocker, F. Rutter and Miss M. Burton: leaders. Mesdames L. Janson, H. Speight and Miss V. Jackson; hon. secretary, Miss E. Beale; corresponding secretary. Mrs L. Janson; treasurer, Mrs A. J. Daysh: box organisers, Mesdames E. J. Martin, G. Whittaker and Miss V. Jackson; organists. Mesdames W. Hansen and 11. Speight; stamp secretary, Mrs G. Blane; room convenor, Mrs Andrew.
A vote of thanks was accorded to the speakers and hostesses during the past year and to the Press. After some discussion it was decided that all members of the Auxiliary Executive should meet at the house of Mrs Speight, Johnston Street, on Tuesday next to arrange for a Men's Fellowship Tea to be held on August 14 and also to discuss plans for a membership drive. It was arranged tnat cars should leave the church at 2.30 p.m.
