Marshal Voroshilov will conduct the staff talks, assisted by Navy Commissar Kuznetsov, Air Force Chief Loktionov, Army Chief of Staff Shaposhnikov and Adjutant Morovinov. The Soviet regards the talks as most important. The delegation will be responsible only to M.. Stalin. „ The Soviet Press has published an article by Mr Lloyd George, attacking Mr Chamberlain for not securing an agreement with Russia before guaranteeing Poland, Rumania and Greece. Mr Lloyd. George’s sentiments are similar to those voiced by Soviet commentators. STALIN’S DEMANDS NOT FIGHTING BATTLES - OF WESTERN POWERS. SHIP CHARTERED FOR MISSIONS. (Received This Day, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON. August 3. The City of Exeter has been specially chartered to take the British and French military missions to Leningrad. The party will number at least thirty. The talks are expected to last a number of weeks.
The Moscow correspondent of “The Times” says: “Russia wants to know what England and France will do in the event of war against Germany, as M. Stalin has made it abundantly clear that she will guard against being manoeuvred into fighting the battles of the Western Powers.” .
