Mako was surprisingly defeated in the second round of the Southampton tennis tournament, 6/2. 3/6, 6/1. by a comparatively unknown player, Robert Peacock, of California. Sabin defaulted in the middle of his match with Mulloy and left the tourna,ment because lhe committee refused to allow him to wear spikes.
