“BAIL UP”

NED KELLY STORY.

We have received from the New Century Press Pty., Ltd., Sydney, a copy of Hilary Lofting's exciting novel. “Bail Up.” a tale of Ned Kelly. It is a story which holds the interest deeply from start to finish. Readers who are in search of an exciting but true story of the life of the members of the ; Kelly Gang could not do better than purchase this cheaply-priced book. The novel which forms the first half of this volume was completed by the author just a few days before his death. In it he has told the truth, as he saw it. about the Kelly Gang. Through the eyes of a literarj’ artist, we see the background of handsome Ned Kelly; we meet the man, Harry Power, who undoubtedly “broke” Ned into bushranging; we see in a succession of vivid scenes Ned and Dan Kelly, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne, wading through the blood of their victims to the final horror —Glenrowan. Last scene of all — Ned Kelly on the scaffold. In the second half of the book, we have the facts, and nothing but the facts, culled from many sources. The compilation of this portion of the volume necessitated the analysis and compression of hundreds of columns of reports in scores of newspapers. For the first time in the history of Australian book-pub-lishing. justice has been done to the “Kelly Gang” story. The book is well written and well printed and altogether makes a story well worth perusal.
