WRESTLING

COX AND KIRCHMEYER. A DRAWN BOUT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 31. A wrestling bout tonight between “King Kong" Cox (17.0) and Rollend Kirchmeyer (17.10), ended in a draw. Kirchmeyar taking a submission fall in the third round with a python clutch, and Cox equalising in the seventh with an arm-bar and body press following a series of elbow jolts. Cox, as usual, indulged in a good deal of showmanship, but also wrestled well and exploited a wide variety of holds. The contest was fairly quiet up to the fourth round, but afterwards livened up. and in the final stages was wild, with all-in tactics predominating.
