There was another heavy fall of snow in Southern Hawke’s Bay this morning. In Dannevirke. where the fall started between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. and kept going for about five hours, a maximum of three inches fell. Throughout the district the fall was considerably heavier —from five to six inches and more in Norsewood, Ormondville, Makotuku and Tataramoa and five inches elsewhere. Road transport is difficult especially on the stretch of three miles south of Norsewood. where many cars have been held up. FALL IN MARTON AN UNPRECEDENTED FALL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) MARTON. This Day. An unprecedented snowfall was experienced in Marton this morning, the borough streets being covered with nearly two inches of snow, with footdeep drifts filling hollows, up to 9 o'clock, when a thaw set in, followed later by a cold drizzle. At Mount Curl and other highlands in the Tutaenui district, five miles north of Marton, the snow is six inches deep and is still falling, this being a record.
