JONES BEAT COX.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 30
A disappointing display was given by “King Kong" Cox and Paul Jones in a professional heavyweight wrestling contest staged at the Town Hall on Saturday night. Jones took a fall with a figure-four hook body scissors in the fourth round and the referee brought the proceedings to a close early in the seventh round when he awarded a penalty fall against Cox for persistent use of a strangle hold.
ROUGH BOUT. GREYMOUTH, July 30. Lofty Blomfield beat Jack Donovan before a capacity house last night in a rough, spectacular bout. Donovan secured a body press after a series of dumps in the third round, Blomfield equallising with an octopus clamb in the sixth. In the seventh Donovan applied a full-nelson, Blomfield dragging him to a corner and throwing himself back with force from the ropes to pin Donovan. BOESCH AND WOODS DRAW. WESTPORT. July 30. Before a good attendance in the Theatre Royal, Westport, on Saturday night, Paul Boesch, drew with Joe Woods, each man gaining one fall.
