Mrs S. C. Tait of Pio Pio, is the guest of Mrs A. Tail, Balance.
Mrs I. M. Graham has returned to Pahiatua from a visit to Hawera. Mrs J. M. Simpson of Masterton has left on an extended visit to Stratford. Mi’s Mark Wilton, of Upper Plain, is at present staying at "Kent House,” Colombo Road, Maslerton.
Mrs Swainsen. who was the guosi of Mrs R. R. P. Hardy, Featherston. has returned to Havelock North.
Mr and Mrs R. McLaren, of Carterton, left on Saturday for Napier, where they will spend a holiday. Mrs C. M. Wright, of Church Street, Mastcrton. has left on a visit to Wellington and will subsequently go to Auckland where she will be the guest of her brother, Dr. R. L. McMaster, • Orakei Road.
At the Pahiatua Racing Club’s ball the debutantes were Misses Joan Bisset (daughter of Mr and Mrs Bisset), Gracve Bisset (daughter of Mr and Mrs P. A. Bissct), Marjorie Bisset (daughter of Mr and Mrs P. A. Bissot), and Beryl Tinney (daughter of Mr and Mrs S. T. Tinney).
A pleasing function took place in Featherston primary school when the pupils of Form I and II presented Miss J. Brash with a pair of gloves and a brooch as a token of the esteem in which she is held by the children. Miss Brash has been appointed to the staff of the Martinborough school and will begin her duties there tomorrow. The presentation was made by Betty Fuge and Keith Lang. Among those present at the Pahiatua Racing Club’s ball were Misses M. Hart (Masterton). Marjorie Napier (Eketahuna), E. Wimsett (Eketahuna), Rysart (Eketahuna), J. R. Berney (Eketahuna), and L. J.'Heayns (Mangamutu).
