LABOUR RETAINS SEAT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) RUGBY, July 28. The Cojne Valley 'by-election resulted: — W. G. Hall (Labour) 17277 E. Mallalieu (Liberal) 9228 C. F. Pike (Conservative) .... 9012 There is no change in the party position. (At the general election the polling was: E. Marklew (Labour) 16,725. E. L. Mallalieu (Liberal) sitting member, 12,946. M. G. Crofton (Conservative), 10.917, W. G. Bagnall (Independent), 1754).
