CHINESE DOLLAR
QUESTION IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS SIR J. SIMON REFUSES INFORMATION. NO FURTHER ACTION UNDER CONSIDERATION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. July 25. Sir John Simon was asked in (lie House of Commons whether he had noted a further depreciation in the exchange value of the Chinese dollar and whether the resources of the Currency Stabilisation Fund had now been exhausted. Sir J. Simon replied that the questioner would, ho thought, appreciate that secrecy must be observed in regard to the current position of the Chinese Currency Stabilisation Fund, just as in the case of our own or other exchange equalisation funds. Further questioned whether the Government still regarded it as a British interest that the exchange value of the Chinese dollar should be maintained, Sir J. Simon replied that he could not add to his previous answer, but that no further action was under consideration at the present time.
