SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
MONTHLY MEETING.
("Times-Age” Special.)
The monthly meeting of the Home and School Association was held or-, Monday night, Miss Card presiding. There were also present Mesdames Halpin, Lawson, J. Buck, Harkness, Carlyon, J. McKenzie, Saunders. Rea, Messrs Cole, Alien, Kilsby, Willett, Hayes, Henderson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Robbins, N. C. C. Shepherd.
A deputation consisting of Messrs J. Holland, Kenward and Henderson, representing the School Committee, attended and placed their views before those present after which Miss Card thanked them.
A vote of condolence was passed to Mrs Hewitson in connection with the death of her husband.
It was decided to add the names and year of the dux boy or girl to the Cup, from the year 1925 to 1930 and to ask the parents of those children who gained the dux in 1925, 1926 and 1928 to notify the secretary of the Home and School Association.
It was resolved to vote £lO to the library fund of the Primary School.
A display of handwork is to be made in the supper room of the Town Hall on Friday afternoon, August 4. Afternoon tea is to be provided.
Euchre Tournament.
The weekly euchre tournament held in aid of the Scout centennial fund was held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall, but owing to the weather conditions the attendance was not up to the usual. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs Rewai 1, Mrs Bambry 2. Men, Mr Rea 1, Mrs Rea 2.
