AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL REGISTER MR CURTIN APPEALS TO UNIONISTS TRADES COUNCILS TO MEET. FREMANTLE COAL-LUMPERS EURN CARDS. MELBOURNE, July 26. A number of unions are reported to have indicated that they are not prepared to accept forthwith, the basis of settlement, and intend to await developments at the' trades and labour council meetings which are to be held in Melbourne and Sydney in the course of a day or two. A report from Fremantle states that local coal-lumpers carried out their threat and burned their national register cards today. They made a bonfire of butter-boxes, crammed full of cards, which smouldered for over an hour.
