The Pope is preparing his first Encyclical, which is mainly spiritual in character, exhorting the faithful to intensify their prayers and also appealing to rulers and statesmen to maintain peace by solving their problems amicably, in accord with the highest sense of justice. The Encyclical will be published either at Christmas or at Easter.
