CARTERTON LIBRARY MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At the monthly meeting of the Carterton Library Committee, Mr W. Vaughan presided. There were also present Miss Flynn, Messrs H. T. Leete, W. McPherson, R. A. Copeland, the Rev H. White and the librarian, Mrs Adair. The librarian’s report showed that there were 146 subscribers, five joining during the month and five resigning. The credit balance at the bank stood at £6O 8s 5d and receipts since the last meeting amounted to £9 18s 6d. Twenty-two new books had been added to the shelves. The Wairarapa South County Council wrote slating that it had been resolved to grant £25 for a hot water system and other repairs at the library residence. A letter of thanks is to be forwarded the council. Personal. Mr E. McKenzie, sole New Zealand Rugby Union selector, left today en route for Southland to witness the Ranfurly Shield match. Constable Bell; of Wellington, is relieving Constable Watson who is on holiday.
