TEST CRICKET
ENGLAND V. WEST INDIES
ENGLISH BOWLERS ON TOP
A DRAWN GAME
By Telegraph-—Press Association —Copyright (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON. July 25.
The second test between England and West Indies played at Manchester resulted in a draw.
West Indies, continuing their first innings, were all out for 133. England declared their second innings closed with 128 up for the loss of 6 wicket. West Indies replied with 43 runs for 4 wickets. If England had declared at the tea adjournment they might have won the match and the fifty minutes saved would have been probably sufficient for England’s bowlers to finish the West Indies’ innings, as they had the West Indies in trouble. The ci'owd was restless at the slow scoring. Even Hammond was uninspiring, but the bowling was excellent. Bowes bowled finely in both innings. Scores: —■
