MEETING NEW ZEALAND REQUIREMENTS FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT IN COMMONS. REFERENCE TO TRADE AGREEMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.10 p.m.) RUGBY, July 25. The Dominion Secretary (Sir T. Inskip), in the House of Commons announced an agreement on the financial requirements of New Zealand in the United Kingdom, which had been under discussion with the N.Z. Finance Minister (Mr W. Nash), as well as on the trade position, the agreement on which was published as a White Paper last Thursday. Sir T. Inskip said: “As regards the "ormer subject, the British Government has agreed in principle that the facilities of the Export Credits Guarantee Department will be made available to assist in financing United Kingdom imports into New Zealand. Under this arrangement, credits up to five millions sterling will .be made available. on approved conditions, for purchases by the New Zealand Government for defence and other purposes, Short term export credit facilities up to four millions sterling will also be made available, under suitable conditions, to cover exports from the United Kingdom to importers in New Zealand other than the New Zealand Government.
